 The women's court in a typical Korean town house, in Seoul, this belonging to the Viscountess Min Yung Hwee. Her husband is said to be the richest man in Korea, and yet these courts are bare and plain as is possible. The ground is of mud, hard-packed, and frequently swept. Here and there one finds a lone potted plant. That is the only green thing to be seen. |
