Panel of China's Gardens A famous corner of the lake in the Summer Palace grounds in Peking, China.
The entrance avenue to the Ming Tombs near Peking, China, showing some of the carved stone figures which line the way. The "Dragon and the Phoenix Gate" stands at the head of this avenue, and beyond are tombs, partly hidden in scattered groves of trees. Most of the big trees that used to grow in this cemetery have been cut down in the last 200 years.
A series of octagonal doorways in a garden in Showchow, China. Here one looks through four doors into five courts, giving an excellent distance effect.
