-awkward "enforced intimacy" between Duckworth and Stephen children (Lee 118)
-lost father at age 2; kept saying "Where's Georgie's Papa?" (Lee 118)
-dependent and devoted to his mother (Lee 118)
-"sentimental, unintelligent, emotional boy" (Lee 118)
-Virginia described him as "possessed of a very moderate share of brains...Brains were of very little practical use in the world he reflected--They only led to overwork and nervous breakdowns" (Lee 118)
-constantly made fun of/caricatured/satirized by the family, especially Vanessa and Virginia (Lee 148)
