What's Happening at College Hall?

In case you haven’t noticed lately, the mid-exterior of College Hall is enwrapped in a maze of scaffolding—metal piping and wooden platforms climbing higher than the building’s clock tower.

The scaffolding is in place to allow masons to repair the clock tower’s broken finial at the top, and to reset three other finials on the historic structure. While there, masons will also re-point mortar joints and refurbish chipped stonework to better match intact stonework on the tower.

While the scaffolding is in place, the College Hall front entrance remains open for emergency egress. Until work on the tower is completed, occupants of and visitors to College Hall are asked to use the side and rear entrances.

The project is scheduled for completion by the end of February.

Due to the obstruction of the scaffolding, the flag at College Hall will not be lowered during the restoration project. In an event requiring the lowering of the flag, the Alumnae House flag will be lowered instead.
