Michelle Joffroy is in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Smith College. She teaches courses on the U.S. Mexico borderlands, culture and identity in Latin America, and Spanish for Heritage Speakers. Her research focuses on questions of gender and representation in border narratives of the northern Mexican border, as well as post-68 women's writing in Mexico.
