Several Smith students and faculty traveled recently to the annual meeting of the Society for Neuroscience in San Diego.

The meeting, which took place Nov. 3 through 7 this year, gives neuroscientists from around the world opportunities to present their latest research.

Kristen Alligood ’08, Michelle Wong ’08 presented their research as part of the meeting, as did Jung Kim ’08J, Stephanie Del Tufo ’08, Theanne Griffith ’08, and alumna Eileen Kessler ’07.

The students, who work in the labs of Smith faculty in the sciences, were accompanied at the meeting by their faculty mentors Mary Harrington, the Tippit Professor in Life Sciences, Adam Hall, associate professor of biological sciences, and Michael Barresi, assistant professor of biological sciences.

Several alumnae, including Eileen Kessler ’07, also made presentations at the meeting.

With more than 38,000 members, the Society for Neuroscience is the world’s largest organization of scientists and physicians who study the brain and nervous system.
