Use the tools below to find materials on a wide range of subjects beginning in 1861 to the present. Not all finding aids in the College Archives are available online. Please feel free to contact the College Archives staff for help! RESOURCES
COLLECTIONS LIST The records of Smith College are organized in a way that reflects its hierarchy over time. The Smith College Archives Collections List provides an easy way to see how the records are organized. When you do research in the College Archives you may have to think about what office, department, or grouping of records may best help answer your questions. The lists are currently available only in hardcopy at the Smith College Archives Reading Room in Alumnae Gymnasium.
CARD CATALOG When it was a smaller collection, archivists provided item-level subject access to the College Archives. The card catalog that was produced is available for use in the Reading Room. The card catalog ceased to be added to in the mid-1970s. This catalog is arranged by subject and points to specific items, photographs or files found in the Archives collections.
