Gordon Square, Bloomsbury. Virginia and her siblings moved to Gordon square upon the death of their father in 1904. The Bloomsbury Group was named for the section of London where its members met. The Bloomsberries generally rejected the artistic, social, and sexual conventions of their day. Art as an answer to society's ugliness was a Bloomsbury tenet. Photograph by Cyd Cross. |
