Have upcoming interviews? Good preparation is the key to success in these conversations. Watch the CDO’s video workshop Why Should I Hire You: The Art of Successful Interviewing (11 minutes), and read our Interviews handout. As a follow-up, practice your interviewing technique by scheduling a mock interview with a CDO advisor (call 413-585-2582 to arrange a time).

GRADUATE SCHOOL
Master of Engineering Management (M.E.M.)
Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth
The Master of Engineering Management program is a 15-month professional degree program. M.E.M. engineering and management courses are taught by faculty from Thayer School and Tuck School of Business. The combination of small classes and a high faculty-to-student ratio fosters class spirit and creates a stimulating intellectual environment. The mission of Thayer School's M.E.M. program is to develop managers who understand both the engineering and business aspects of technology.
Engineers holding a Thayer School M.E.M. degree can:
- work in research and development, design, or manufacturing
- thrive in a small start-up company or a large industrial complex
- balance marketing demands with product feasibility and ethical considerations
- apply the finer points of managerial analysis
Work experience not required for admittance (25-50% of students enter the M.E.M. program with work experience).

RESEARCH OPPORTUNTIES
Biomaterials Summer Research Program – 6/6/2011 - 8/12/2011
SBI Central Research Facility at Syracuse University, SUNY- ESF and SUNY Upstate Medical Center- Syracuse, New York
Students have the opportunity to do research in any of the following areas: Understanding bacteria-material interactions by surface engineering; Functionalization of biomimetic interfaces via engineered proteins; Control of Natural Polymers for Drug Delivery; 2D and 3D Active Cell Culture; Neurite Outgrowth on Substrates with Modulus Gradients; Smart Drug Release: Furanone release from a shape memory hydrogel; Electrochemical Atomic Force Microscopy of Cell-Surface Interactions. Each participant will receive a summer scholarship of $5,000 and University housing at no additional expense.
Eligibility: Undergraduate students majoring in the following disciplines: Engineering, Chemistry, Biology or Physics with an interest in Biomaterials Science. Most Students will have completed their junior year, although talented students with less experience will be considered for acceptance in the program. Students must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. Application deadline 3/15/2011.

Summer on the Cuyahoga Internship Program – includes engineering opportunities
Summer on the Cuyahoga (SOTC) is a unique summer internship program open to students of Case Western Reserve, Colgate, Cornell, Smith, University of Chicago and Yale. The program brings together 50-60 students for an intensive summer immersion program designed to help interns explore the professional, civic, and social offerings of the Cleveland area. SOTC offers students paid internships, community introductions, alumni connections, and group housing for the summer. Open to current sophomores, juniors and seniors.
