Services for Faculty
Please complete the E-Reserves Form and attach your list or e-reserve readings. Submit by email to the appropriate reserves contact person. (see below)
Include a complete bibliographic citation for each reading, with a copyright statement (e.g. © 1980 Oxford University Press). Submit your list in electronic format, suitable for copying and pasting into a webpage. List items in the order you'd like them displayed (in order of assignment, alphabetical, grouped by topic, etc.)
If you know an item is available through JSTOR or another online subscription, please note this on your list. If an item is available through a free website, please provide the web address.
Note that the automatic Moodle "roll-over" will not move e-reserves pages. If any changes have been made to a reading list from a previous semester, a new e-reserves form should be submitted. If no changes have been made to the reading list, faculty may request that e-reserves pages from previous years be added to their current Moodle site. Contact the appropriate library by the reserves deadline as pages need to be assessed for possible copyright violations and electronic resources may need to be updated.
Arrange for copyright clearance when required. Generally, first-time use of materials, as well as use of previously scanned materials in a new course, is considered to be fair use. Repeated use for the same course in subsequent semesters requires permission. For more information, see the Smith College Copyright Policy.
