Rob O'Connell is the Director of Discovery and Access for Smith College Libraries, overseeing the Acquisitions, Cataloging, Electronic Resources, Preparation and Stacks, Interlibrary Loan, and Circulation departments. Rob manages the overall operation of the libraries discovery layer, OPAC, and metadata tools as well as the libraries material budget.

Rob has spent a number of years working in the United Arab Emirates as a technical services librarian and has a love of Arab culture and cuisine. When not working at the library, Rob spends his time with his wife and two kids and playing pick-up basketball.
