Marlene is responsible for the overall planning, operations, and supervision of the Libraries’ desktop computing support services for patrons and staff with the aim of keeping library computers in tip-top shape and loaded with the software needed by users. She also supervises the Digital Production Studio where she manages digital media production for the Libraries, with emphasis on materials—including images, text, audio, and video—from our outstanding Special Collections.

In her spare time, Marlene is a gardener, photographer, and yoga practitioner who enjoys writing poetry, reading, and a good laugh. With her husband, she started an out-of-print book business specializing in all areas of social reform. The venture is still going strong more than 30 years later. They live in one of the hilltowns of Western Mass where she enjoys the rural community life and the beauty of the landscape on long walks with their sweet Lab, Roxy.
