MacOS HIGH SIERRA (v10.13) UPDATE
ITS has removed our restriction on upgrading Smith owned computers to macOS High Sierra (v10.13). There is, however, no requirement for Smith users to move to High Sierra at this time. Users who wish to update may do so, but should review the following known compatibility issues before proceeding:
- MS Office 2011 – You must upgrade to MS Office 2016 before you upgrade to High Sierra (v10.13). MS Office 2016 is available in Self Service for Smith owned devices.
- Adobe strongly recommends updating to the latest version of Creative Cloud prior to upgrading to High Sierra.
- If you use software that is not a part of the standard Smith image you must check with the vendor of that application to confirm compatibility with High Sierra.
We highly recommended that you backup all important files before you begin the upgrade process.
Note: Because of changes in the file structure associated with this upgrade, it could take a while especially if you have a lot of files (or a nearly full Hard Drive).
