ACCESSING YOUR BANNERWEB ACCOUNT


BannerWeb is a secure on-line system that provides Smith students, staff, and faculty with access to various academic, registration, and personnel records maintained by the college.


Current students, staff, and faculty

Should always use the Smith Portal to access BannerWeb. The Smith Portal can be accessed from any computer with an Internet connection.

  1. Go to portal.smith.edu and enter your network username and password (the same one you use for Smith Mail, Moodle, etc.)

  2. If you prefer to navigate through the BannerWeb system yourself, click the BannerWeb link on the General tab. You will not be required to provide your PIN.

  3. If you prefer to go directly to a specific BannerWeb task:

    • Students: Click the My Student Info tab.

    • Staff: Click the My Info tab.

    • Faculty: Click the My Info tab to access your personal records or the Teaching & Advising tab to access your academic records.

  4. Click on the link for any task of interest (Course Registration, Class Lists, Timesheet Entry, Leave Report Entry, etc.) You will be taken directly to the selected task in BannerWeb and will not be required to provide your PIN.

Alumnae, applicants, and affiliates

  1. Go to the BannerWeb login page: https://www.smith.edu/bannerweb

  2. Enter your Smith ID number and the BannerWeb PIN you were given.

  3. If you forget your PIN, call the appropriate office to have it reset, as follows:

    Alumnae and student applicants: Call the IT Service Center at 413-585-4487.

    College affiliates: Call Human Resources at 413-585-2260.

  4. Once your PIN is reset, go to the BannerWeb login page and log in using your Smith ID number and new PIN.


As soon as I click on a BannerWeb link, the Portal logs me out. What should I do?

This happens if you try to log directly into BannerWeb using the wrong PIN too many times and lock your account. To have your account unlocked:

  • Current Students: Call the IT Service Center at 413-585-4487.

  • Staff & Faculty: Call Human Resources at 413-585-2260.

Once your account is unlocked, you will be able to access BannerWeb through the Portal.
