Data Networking

The Smith Residence Network (ResNet) provides students with access to Smith's high speed campus wide network linking Smith students to campus Unix systems, the Novell Network, GroupWise Email, on line library and course catalogs and the Internet.

To connect to the Smith network, your computer must have a twisted pair Ethernet network adapter. We recommend that you buy a computer that comes with an integrated or built in network adapter. Wireless Computing on Campus
Neilson Library, Stoddard Hall, and the Campus Center are set up for wireless computing. Residential houses common areas are wireless.

Wireless access points are not allowed in your room. Please keep in mind that there are strict guidelines for wireless computing on the Smith campus.
