Data Networking

The Smith Residence Network (ResNet) links Smith students to campus computing resources, the on-line library and course catalogs, and the Internet. In a residence house, you can connect to ResNet wirelessly (recommended) or via an Ethernet cable; note that you must provide your own cable if you choose this method.

To learn more about ResNet, call the ITS User Support Center at (413) 585-4487 or see our ResNet information page: http://www.smith.edu/its/services/resnet.html

The Smith College Computer Store can also answer your questions regarding minimum requirements for students computers, computer upgrades, and network adapters. You can reach the store at (413) 585-3027.

Wireless Computing on Campus
Smith College provides wireless access to Smith's high-speed network in multiple locations across campus, including the Libraries, the Science Center, and most other academic and administrative buildings. Wireless service is also available in all Smith residence houses.

To learn more about wireless computing on campus, see: http://www.smith.edu/tara/smith_network/wireless.html
