Smith United Way Campaign Reaches Goal

The Smith College United Way campaign, which began in September with a goal of raising $155,000, has succeeded in its mission with contributions totaling $157,297 as of this week.

Thanks to the donations of more than 400 folks in the Smith community, thousands of people in need will receive assistance through the essential services provided by 27 charitable agencies in the Pioneer Valley that partner with United Way of Hampshire County.

Moreover, each dollar donated to the county campaign helps secure further funding through grants based on the community campaign’s success.

This year, as usual, Smith College led the way among area educational institutions with the largest percentage of contributions, providing more than 10 percent of the community campaign’s $1.5 million goal.

Congratulations to the Smith community for its leadership and generosity.

Though the Smith United Way campaign has successfully reached its goal, it’s never too late to make a contribution and help those in need. Send donations through Campus Mail to Donna Schnopp, Stoddard Hall 12.
