Another
Record Year for Smith Fellowships
For the fourth straight year,
Smith has set a new record for undergraduates and alumnae
named to fellowships. This year's total of 47 fellowships
awarded to Smith students past and present tops last year's
mark of 40 awards. The fellowship stipends total more than
$700,000.
The impressive 2005 list of fellowship recipients is highlighted
by 13 Fulbright fellows, another record. Ten seniors have
won Fulbrights and three alumnae.
In addition, 20 students and alumnae were either finalists
or alternates for competitive fellowships; and of course,
none of these impressive results would be possible without
the generous assistance of faculty and administrative mentors.
