 Nanci Forrestall ’92, a graduate of the Ada Comstock Scholars program and a Smith Public Safety officer since 1984, was recently promoted to lieutenant. In that capacity, she will be responsible for supervising the department’s evening shift, says Paul Ominsky, director of Public Safety.
In addition to her increased responsibilities on the job, Forrestall is also working toward a master’s degree in criminal justice at Westfield State College. “Nanci brings to this new position a wealth of experience from both the military and from the municipal law enforcement fields,” said Ominsky in announcing the promotion. He noted that she is a sexual assault investigator, and coordinates the department’s Web site. Forrestall is also the system administrator for Public Safety computer systems, and is certified in many areas of campus law enforcement, Ominsky said.
