Trafficking Symposium


Trafficking Sex: Politics, Policy, Personhood
Smith College offers a two-day symposium on the complex and controversial issues of human sex trafficking. A keynote event with Gloria Steinem and Ruchira Gupta will open the event. A set of panels will follow that feature presentations and open debate by a range of prominent experts. Subjects treated will examine the the interplay between public policy, advocacy, human rights, and technology - in the United States and around the world. Thursday, April 18 - Friday, April 19, 2013

Film Series

Smith College offers a critical reflection on films addressing human trafficking. All screenings will include discussions moderated by Smith or other Five College faculty members.

interterm workshop

Smith College offered a multidisciplinary, one-day workshop to examine the illicit trade in human beings - in Massachusetts and the world. Panelists representing a range of disciplines will present comparative perspectives and discuss local responses, including how students are now or may become involved in antitrafficking work.
