Ofrendas is a community fundraiser to reunite migrant families held at the Academy of Music Theatre on Sunday, July 29th at 4:00 p.m. Quiero Volver: A Xicanx Ritual Opera will showcase a multimedia performance by Diana Alvarez that explores themes of motherlessness, political consciousness, and building community/family. There will also be a panel discussion with local experts about current immigration issues and the impact and implications for migrant families.
You can purchase tickets on www.ofrendas.net. It is open seating and there is a sliding scale for ticket prices. 100% of ticket proceeds will go to the Southern Poverty Law Center. Please note that doors open at 3:30 p.m. and program begins at 4:00 p.m.
