Advising

The School for Social Work believes in the importance of mentorship and supervision. Over the course of your academic program, you will have numerous opportunities to benefit from the knowledge and experience of mentors who can guide you to excel—in the classroom, in your research and in your internship.

M.S.W. advisers provide academic advising and may be consulted as needed.

  • Advisers for first-summer M.S.W. students are the instructors of the 500/501 Social Work Practice courses.
  • Advisers for second-summer students are the instructors of the 600/601 Clinical Social Work Practice courses.
  • Advisers for third-summer students are resident SSW faculty and are randomly assigned by the SSW Registrar's Office.

SSW will provide more information about specific assignments at check-in.
