Annual Appeal
Each year the PTO Development Committee organizes the Annual Appeal which raises funds for enrichment and financial aid at the Campus School. The funds raised through the Annual Appeal are often what allow us to go beyond the basics and provide materials and experiences that further enrich and extend the students' education and make a wider range of professional development available to teachers. Funds raised through the Annual Appeal continue to be important to our efforts to make the Campus School available to a broader range of families. While the PTO supports the School in numerous ways, the Annual Appeal is the only PTO fund raising effort that directly supports enrichment and financial aid.

2015-16 Annual Appeal

December 2015

Dear Friends,

Next year, the Smith College Campus School will celebrate an incredible milestone: its 90th anniversary.  For nine decades, our school has fulfilled its mission to foster a lifelong love of learning and provide an exemplary education for its students.  This mission is only achievable because of our exceptional and dedicated faculty, staff, students, and parents.  It is also made possible through the generous financial support of parents and the broader community.  We are pleased to announce the beginning of our Annual Appeal for the 2015-2016 school year, and ask for your support in reaching our $15,000 goal.

When asked to give money to support the Campus School, the question often arises: why should we give more funds to a school where we are already paying tuition?  The reason is simple: these additional dollars help support activities that go beyond the school’s operating budget, including classroom enrichment, professional development, and financial aid.  The funds ensure that our classrooms have state-of-the art technology and that our teachers have the opportunity to attend professional development workshops.  Your financial support makes a significant and immediate impact on our children’s education.

We know that so many of you already contribute significant time and energy to our school through volunteering in our classrooms and on field trips, and we want to extend a heartfelt “thank you.”  This year we ask that you also choose to support the Campus School by making a gift to the Annual Appeal that is meaningful and manageable for your family.  It’s also always worth it to ask if your employer has a gift-matching program.  Please take a moment now to go online (see directions below) to make your tax-deductible gift.

Your contribution sends an important message within our community, and ensures the long-term growth and health of our school.

With gratitude for your support,

Karen McAmis
PTO Chair
