About the Office

The mission of the student affairs division is to engage the whole student in a process of self-discovery that prepares them to thrive in a complex and diverse global society.

The division provides a variety of services, programs and activities. The student affairs departments — the dean of students/associate dean of the college, counseling services, first-year student programs, leadership, medical services, student engagement, religious and spiritual life, residence life, and wellness; with our partners in international students and scholars and multicultural affairs — collaborate to ensure a meaningful and healthy venture for all students. With an emphasis on cultural competencies, student affairs staff members employ nationally recognized best practices to meet the unique needs of Smith students.
