About the Office

Residence life is part of Smith's cocurricular environment that enhances and enriches the academic program. Students come from varied backgrounds, and the house community provides a supportive, social environment for students to learn about and appreciate each other's experiences and differences.

Summer Housing

The summer housing form opens on Friday April 15 at 10 am. For more information check the Summer Housing page. There is also a summer housing prezi that summarizes how the process works.

John M Greene Storage

Students in houses with no trunk room (44/54 Green Street) and students in summer housing have limited access to storage in John M Greene Hall. For details and the schedule, check the Trunk Room Storage page.

Early Arrival in Fall

If you believe you are coming back to campus early for Orientation related activities or athletics, please be in contact with your supervisor, adviser or coach. We will not send out early arrival confirmation emails until after all submissions are completed the first week of August.

Fall 2016 Arrival

Entering (new) students should check the Orientation page for arrival information. Returning students should expect to return on Tuesday September 6 from 1-4 pm or Wednesday September 7 from 10 am to noon. Students arriving early on September 4 will be assessed a $150 fee (charged to their student account) and may pick up keys from 1-4 pm. There will be no key pick up on Monday September 5. Key pickups require a OneCard. If you cannot pick up your own key, you must authorize a proxy to do so. Proxies must show authorization in the form of an email to you (printed or shown on a phone or mobile device) authorizing them to pick up your key. Be sure to include your student id number, name, house and room number in any proxy email.
