Q-tutors hold open drop-in hours in the Spinelli Center. Depending on which Q-tutor you see, she might be able to help with the quantitative and mathematical parts of economics, engineering, chemistry, physics, statistics, etc.

  • Analia is a junior Engineering Science major who has taken MTH 111, MTH 112, MTH 212 , PHY 117, PHY 210, CHM 111, BIO 152, and ECO 150. She has also taken engineering core courses such as EGR 100, 110, 220, 270, and 290. 
  • Angelica is a Math Post Bac student who has taken Calculus 1, Calculus 2,  Calculus 3, among other advanced courses like Linear Algebra. Currently she is taking Differential Equations, Stochastic Processes and Complex Analysis.
  • Angie is a senior Math and Economics major. She has taken the core economics sequence (ECO 150, 153, 220, 250, 253), Calculus I, II, and III, Linear Algebra, Econometrics (ECO 240), and Modeling in the sciences (MTH 205). She can also help with R, Stata, and Python.

  • Laura is a junior Engineering Science major who can help with Math 111,112, and 212, and Physics 117 and 210. She is currently enrolled in statistics and BIO 130, and has taken engineering core courses. Also proficient programming in Python.
  • Megan is a math and chemistry double major who can help with both chemistry (CHM 118 and 223) and with calculus (MTH 111 and 112).

Math TA's

The Math TA's are available Sunday - Thursday evenings 7-9 pm in the Math Forum on the third floor of Burton Hall. The TA's are eager to welcome you and to support your progress in mathematics.

TA's can help you with difficulties and questions in the courses: MTH 102, 111, 112, 153, or 211.
A particular TA, Claudia, for MTH 153, Discrete Math, is available on Sunday and Thursday nights in the Math Forum.

For help with Math 212, Calculus III, see the Calculus Counselor or see your instructor.

To enter Burton at night, you'll need to enter the Science Center with your one card either at the main entrance of Burton or via the Sabin Reed door across from McConnell with the wheelchair ramp.

  • Data Research and Statistics Counselor: Maria Delfin-Auza is available Thursdays 3-5pm and by appointment.
  • Data Assistant: Wencong (Priscilla) is a sophomore mathematics (statistics track) and biology double major. She has taken introductory statistics (MTH 220) as well as intermediate statistics (MTH 291) and can assist with related topics such as introductory statistics, multiple regression, and research design and analysis. She can also help with MTH 153 and biological data analysis.
  • Data Assistant: Aakanksha is a junior Math/Stats major. She is proficient in R, and she has taken Intro to Stats (MTH 220), Intro to Data Sciences (SDS 192), Multiple Regression (MTH/SDS 291), and Machine Learning (SDS 293). Quantitative Social Science (Psychology, Sociology & Goverment)

A Master Tutor is available for PSY 201, SOC 201, and GOV 190. Drop-in hours are listed below, but you may contact the tutor through the course Moodle site, and are held in the Spinelli Center. Students in other courses using statistical methods (such as PSY 192, SOC 202) are welcome to contact the Statistics Counselor.

She is proficient in R, and she has taken Intro to Stats (MTH 220), Intro to Data Sciences (SDS 192), Multiple Regression (MTH/SDS 291), and Machine Learning (SDS 293). This semester she is taking mostly non-statistical math, and enjoys linear algebra and discrete mathematics. 
  • Alicia is a senior psychology major who has taken introductory statistics, Research Design and Analysis, Multiple Regression, and Machine Learning. She is familiar with R Studio and research design, and she can assist with topics from MTH 220, 290, 291, and SDS 293.
  • Emily is a junior sociology major and applied statistics minor. She has taken Introduction to Probability and Statistics (MTH 220), Multiple Regression (MTH 291), and Quantitative Research Methods (SOC 202), and is proficient with R and Stata.
  • Madison is a senior SDS major who is very comfortable with R and has taken classes in introductory statistics, probability, multiple regression, discrete math, linear algebra, survey and experiment design as well as other advanced statistics courses while studying abroad in Auckland.
  • Vega is a senior Math/Stats major. She has taken Intro to Data Sciences(SDS 192), Research Design and Analysis (MTH 290), Multiple Regression (MTH 291), Visual Analytics (SDS 235) and Machine Learning (SDS 293). She is proficient in R and has experience in SQL, Latex, Python.
