Calculus and Math Counselor: Arie Stern is available to help with any of the following math courses:

  • Angela is a sophomore biology major and prospective chemistry minor who has taken MTH 112. She took MTH 111 before entering Smith and can try to help with that class.
  • Dayln is a senior math major who has taken MTH 205, MTH 281, MTH 233, MTH 333, MTH 382, and LOG 100 at Smith. She took MTH 111, MTH 112, MTH 211, MTH 212, and MTH 238 prior to entering Smith but can help with material from those classes as well. She also took Graph Theory, Quantum Computing, and Commutative Algebra while abroad in Hungary. Sunday 8:00-9:00 pm and Wednesday 8:00-9:00 pm
  • Jordan is a junior with a double major in math and government. She has taken MTH 112, MTH 153, MTH 211, MTH 212, MTH 220, PHY 117, and PHY 118 at Smith. She took AP Calculus in high school and skipped MTH 111 but can also help with material from that class.
  • Lisa is a senior math major, who is most comfortable with Calc I and II, and can try to help with Calc III, 211, and 153.
  • Madison is a junior math and theatre double-major who has taken MTH 112, MTH 153, MTH 211, MTH 212, and MTH 246 at Smith, and the equivalent of MTH 111 before coming to Smith. She's happy to help with material from Calc I, II, or III, and can try to help with material from Linear Algebra as well!
  • Rachel is a junior math major and landscape studies minor. She has taken LOG100, MTH 212, MTH/SDS 220, MTH 153, MTH 246, and MTH 264 at Smith. She took the equivalent of MTH111 and MTH112 before coming to Smith and MTH211 at another university but can help with material from those classes too.
  • Sivan is a junior math and computer science major who has taken MTH 153, MTH 211, MTH 212, MTH 233, MTH 238, and MTH 281 at Smith. She took MTH 111 and MTH 112 prior to entering Smith but can help with material from those classes as well.
  • Suany is a sophomore Math Major. She's taken Calc I, Calc II, and Calc III at Smith and is available to help with any of these topics!
  • Winnie is a senior Engineering major and Computer Science minor. She is happy to answer any MTH 111 and MTH 112 questions. She has also taken MTH 212 and can assist with material from it as well.

  • Amrita is a junior double majoring in Data Science and Architecture + Urbanism. She has taken CSC 111, SDS 192, 220 and 291. She is currently taking Discrete Mathematics (MTH 153) and Programming with Data Structures (CSC 212). She can help with intro stats and multiple regression questions, as well as data wrangling, cleaning and visualization in R, Python and SQL.
  • Audrey is a senior Data Science major and Public Policy minor. She has taken Intro to Data Science, Intro Stats, Research Design & Analysis, Multiple Regression, and Machine Learning (though it was a few years back, in an earlier version of the course). She can help with data wrangling, cleaning, visualization, reproducibility, and version control (with GitHub) as well as any intro statistics questions. She also has experience in writing R packages.
  • Emma is a junior majoring in Data Science. She has taken Intro to Data Science, Communicating With Data, Intro to Probability and Statistics, and Multiple Régression. She can help with class content as well as Python, R, SQL, Tableau, and GitHub material.
  • Hannah is a senior double majoring in SDS and Biochemistry. She has taken Intro to Data Science, Intro Stats, Research Design and Analysis, Multiple Regression, Probability, and Machine Learning in R. She can help with any class content as well as any bioinformatics/biostatistics research questions. Additionally, she can help with programming in Python, SAS, and working with GitHub.
