Judge 2007: Naomi Shihab Nye


Author and editor of more than twenty volumes, including poetry, fiction, and anthologies for young readers, Naomi Shihab Nye has won many distinguished awards, including Lannan and Guggenheim Fellowships, and a Lavan Award from the Academy of American Poets. Her collection 19 Varieties of Gazelle was a finalist for the National Book Award. Her work has been presented on National Public Radio on shows such as A Prairie Home Companion and The Writer’s Almanac, and she has been featured on two PBS poetry specials.
