About our Programs

Smith students are athletes, activists, leaders, performers and writers. They live full and meaningful lives outside the classroom, engaging socially in every aspect of their community. Programs and activities are an integral part of students' lives at Smith, connecting the academic and out of class experience. Participation in programming allows students to gain leadership experience in collaboration, decision making, balance, teamwork, communication skills and conflict resolution.

From cultural shows to large-scale concerts, from dance parties to coffeehouses, protests and speakers to student conferences, there is a program for everyone. The Office of Student Engagement seeks to empower and engage students and student organizations by providing them with the support and resources necessary for them to be full members of the Smith and global communities.

Students will find a global perspective woven throughout the opportunities offered by the Office of Student Engagement and student organizations allowing them to experience diverse cultures and cultivate a richer understanding of their place in the world. The OSE is here to assist and support all students and student organizations in the program planning process.

Five College Community

As a member of the Five College community you have the opportunity to participate in organizations and programs at any of the Five Colleges. We encourage you to experience all that the campuses have to offer.

If you have questions about how to get involved in an organization on a different campus, stop by the office in Campus Center room 106.
