How to Get Noticed by an Employer or Recruiter: Candid Conversations with Career Gurus Emily Frank ’93 and Gail Fritzinger ’81

Alum Office Hours (AOH) welcomes career gurus Emily Frank ’93 and Gail Fritzinger ’81 to host “How to Get Noticed by an Employer or Recruiter.” Young alums and recent graduates are invited to participate on November 19 from 6 to 7 p.m. ET in a virtual Q&A session about ways that candidates can distinguish themselves with potential employers or recruiters. Enjoy interactive breakout sessions with panelists and fellow alums for more informal networking and a safe space for candid dialogue around career development.
About the Panel
Emily Frank ’93 is a career counselor and coach with a holistic and client-centered approach. As the founder of The Career Catalyst, she is passionate about connecting individuals with careers they love and equipping them with tools for lifelong career development.
Her areas of expertise include international work, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and Strong Interest Inventory (SII). She helps clients with job searches, resumes and cover letters development, interview preparation and addressing LGBTQ job-search issues.
Emily serves on the Diversity & Inclusion Committee for the National Career Development Association (NCDA). She spent three years living and working in Japan on the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program. Emily holds a bachelors in East Asian Studies from Smith and a Masters in counseling from Regis University. She is fluent in Japanese and a former resident of Park House.
Gail Fritzinger ’81 is a career transition professional with ICC- Innovate Coach Consult. She takes pride in providing outplacement counseling and career development coaching to all levels of employees in transition.
Her areas of expertise include resume development, interview training and practice, assessment of job skill and interests and career research and marketing. As an experienced facilitator and outplacement counselor, Gail leads career transition workshops and one-on-one counseling sessions to clients in all industries.
Gail is an active Board Member of Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver. While serving on the Board of the Women’s Bean Project, she co-founded a mentor program for the participants and is currently a member of their capital campaign committee. Gail holds a bachelors in Economics and Political Science from Smith and is a former resident of Baldwin House.

Alum Office Hours is a new virtual series promoting intergenerational connection within the Smith network. Alums will connect virtually with Smithie experts to seek advice on establishing one’s own trajectory for success at any stage of their career. Like conversations over a coffee break, Alum Office Hours offers time for more informal networking and space for candid dialogue with industry leaders. Each event will focus on cohort building around careers and/or identities.
