How do you preserve all that abundant fall produce so that you can eat it during the winter? This course taught the basics of canning and drying food for long-term storage. Students learned tips on buying or picking produce, equipment needed for canning and drying, the actual steps of the canning process, safety in the process and what resources are available in print and on the internet. Notice the "fruits" of their labor.
