Paradise Pond Dam Repair Project
The Paradise Pond Dam Repair Project has been awarded to T Ford Company from Georgetown, MA. The work is scheduled to begin on Monday, Oct. 15, and will be complete, less planting, by January 31, 2013. The work includes reconstructing the earthen dike, which runs 800 feet upstream from the spillway to the throwing field. The Pond will be partially drawn down, 8 feet below normal pool, for approximately 2 months. All stumps will be removed, some soils will be replaced with new materials, the dike will be re-shaped to a consistent slope and elevation, and the lower portion of the slope on the upstream side will be armored with stone. The jogging path will be fenced off from the spillway up past the softball field during construction.
