Smith First-Year Takes the Iron Horse Stage

June and the Bee, Iron Horse Music Hall, Saturday, Nov. 2, 10 p.m.

Singer Zoe Langsdale '17 (pictured above on far left) will take the stage at the Iron Horse, the venerated music venue in downtown Northampton, as part of the band June and the Bee, on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 10 p.m. The band was started in 2012 when siblings Eli (pictured in center) and Emma Ayres started performing together. All three musicians are from Amherst, Mass.

"One day Emma came up to me and said they wanted me to practice with them some time," explains Langsdale of how she joined the band. "Soon I was in the band!"

June and the Bee performs all original material. "We aren't exactly sure what genre we fall into," says Langsdale. "We really pride ourselves on our amazing blend and sound, and have been told many times that we are the 'female Crosby, Stills & Nash.'"

June and the Bee, pictured here on the Iron Horse stage, has ascended to musical heights quickly, says Langsdale. "Since just this past February we've gone from playing at tiny open mics to headlining at the Iron Horse! Who knows what's next?"

June and the Bee, November 2 at the Iron Horse. Opening act: Ari and Mia. Admission: $8 in advance, $10 at the door.
