This growing collection of more than 1,000 images features the art, architecture, and culture of the ancient Mediterranean. The collection has multiple contributors, including art history faculty members from across the Five Colleges.
This growing collection of global cultural works, includes architecture, works of art and documentary images that range from prehistoric times to the present. Based on the curriculum of Smith College, the collection is developed to meet faculty and student needs for teaching, learning and research in a wide variety of subject areas in the arts, humanities and sciences.
Covering Michale Mazur's (1935-2009) work from the late 1950s to the early 2000s, the collection includes examples from every decade of his career, including a number of unpublished works, preliminary sketches and hand-tinted proofs. This collaborative project of the Smith College Imaging Center and MassArt Visual Resource Center brings together nearly 400 images from Mazur's personal documentation slides.
