Michael Mazur Seasons, 2001
ARTstor has made a major upgrade to its database. While its content of nearly two million images remains, the database has been updated with new software, allowing for quicker upgrades and compliance with the IIIF protocol, which will improve museums' ability to share their images with ARTstor. This work is ongoing, and some of the functionality in the previous version (i.e. downloading and sharing image details) will be made available in the new interface on a rolling basis. If you have any problems, please contact Jon Cartledge in the Imaging Center at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Covering Michael Mazur's (1935-2009) work from the late 1950's to the early 2000's, the collection includes examples from every decade of his career, including a number of unpublished works, preliminary sketches and hand-tinted proofs. For printmakers, the collection includes a wide range of etchings, aquatints, drypoints, lithographs, woodcuts, and an array of monotypes. For students of drawing and painting, subjects include still life, landscape, botanical studies, figure sketches, as well as abstract and non-objective work - in every imaginable medium from charcoal to spray-paint.
