Sharon Domier is the East Asian Studies Librarian, who divides her time between Smith College, Amherst College, and the University of Massachusetts. She is the point person for all library services that require East Asian language skills. This means that she is involved in selecting materials, preparing orders, and cataloging them, helping students and faculty to locate research materials in print and online formats, and cite their Chinese, Japanese, and Korean sources accurately. She also works in cooperation with members of the Teaching, Learning, and Research group to provide library instruction.
Sharon is a fan of reading, coffee, and dogs. She collects Japanese books and manga that relate to libraries and librarians. She and her dogs take classes on a regular basis and try a range of activities from agility, obedience, therapy dog visits, and herding.
