As a senior staff member of the Digital Strategies and Services group, Eric's primary function is to ensure optimal, reliable, and secure technical operation and maintenance of the Libraries’ technology infrastructure, including managing the integrated library system, digital asset management and preservation repositories, library servers, storage, and networking. Eric provides leadership and expertise in planning for library-wide initiatives and projects that enhance and improve the Libraries’ digital services and resources. He coordinates technology solutions with Information Technology Services and Library staff, and also works closely with Five Colleges Libraries technology staff.

Eric began his library career at Williams College, and worked at Oberlin College, the University of Illinois, St. Lawrence University, and Canisius College before coming to Smith. A former professional musician (guitarist/bassist/keyboardist/singer in various rock bands), Eric spends his free time playing and listening to music; he's interested in Rock 'n Roll Musicology as well as all types of music, and also enjoys reading, films, baseball, and time travel.
