Barbara Polowy is a member of the Teaching, Learning, and Research Group. She manages and directs Hillyer Art Library’s daily operations and provides its strategic leadership. Barbara works closely with faculty to develop and present research instruction to support art and landscape studies as well as courses in related disciplines, and to provide reference and research support for students and faculty in those fields. She coordinates collection development for the art library, working with faculty and museum staff to select and acquire new books, journals, and electronic resources to support the curriculum and research needs.
Barbara began her career as a librarian at the Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse, N.Y., headed the library at the Munson-Williams-Proctor Institute in Utica, N.Y., and served for many years as art and photography librarian at Rochester Institute of Technology.
