Lessons from the Past: Interpreting water use and conservation at three significant historic agricultural landscapes in Central and Western Massachusetts

Funded by the Five College Faculty Student Summer Research Seminar

Simultaneously participate in the Smith College Summer Botanic Garden internship and this special program of research to document landscape features specific to the development of early water systems at three agricultural sites: Hancock Shaker Village in Pittsfield, Old Sturgridge Village in Sturbridge, and Naumkeag in Stockbridge.

Co-sponsored by Smith College Landscape Studies and American Studies programs and the University of Massachusettes, Amherst, Landscape Architecture program.
