March 6 – September 30, 2010
Church Exhibition Gallery, Lyman Plant House

X-rays combined with a unique artistic approach bring to light the usually unseen inner structure of flowers. Retired radiologist Merrill C. Raikes has produced magnificent images that allow visitors to see flowers as if they had x-ray vision. Alongside Raikes’ beautiful floral radiography, this exhibition provides explanations of the science behind the images: the way light works, how the eye sees, and how x-ray technology can be used to create art.
