WordPress is a blogging and website building platform. The Smith College WordPress site, sites.smith.edu, is used for hosting course blogs, portfolios, and other special research projects. - Create an Image Gallery
- Resizing Images on PC or Mac
- Edit an Image in WordPress
- Embed Streaming Video. You can automatically embed videos from YouTube, Vimeo, and many other sources just by posting the link. Find instructions for embedding with a link here.
- Working with Your Own Videos. If you’d like to embed your own video, we recommend using the H5P plugin. First, you will need to upload it to YouTube, Vimeo, or another service that generates a URL. Here is an example video showing how to create an accordion on H5P (requires login). Visit H5P.org to see examples of other content types.
Finding Free-to-Use Images
If you can find an image that you like and you know for sure is free to use – that is always the best way to go. Some suggestions for finding these:

Stuck on something strange? Google it! When you google a question, like “how to add a custom header in WordPress TwentyTwelve,” make sure to include the theme you are using (in this case, TwentyTwelve). Tutorials can be theme-specific.
