COVID Update

CIRT Update

Published April 25, 2022

Dear students, staff and faculty:

Below, please find an important update from the COVID-19 Incident Response Team (CIRT).

We are writing to inform you of upcoming changes to the college’s approach to isolation space and encourage you to remain vigilant as we finish out the semester.

As you know, the Ellery has been our primary location for isolating students who test positive for COVID-19. On May 1, we will begin preparing the Ellery to serve as a hotel to host families for commencement. Beginning this weekend, students who test positive for COVID-19 may be placed in other existing isolation space on campus. Should the number of positive cases exceed available isolation space, students who do not have roommates will isolate in place or isolate at home if they are able to do so. Many of our peer institutions have moved to this model successfully.  If we move to an isolate in place model, we will inform the campus community and provide additional details.

As we head into the final weeks of the semester and approach commencement, please continue to follow our protocols and use common sense in navigating the numerous activities scheduled during this time. We appreciate the vigilance and cooperation our community has shown this year.
