In the fall of 2015, the Study Group on Climate Change was charged with facilitating a campuswide examination of how Smith, as an educational institution and a residential college, could most effectively respond to the challenge of global climate change. The group presented their recommendations to the Board of Trustees at its March 4, 2017 meeting.

Study Group on Climate Change Releases Final Report

The Study Group on Climate Change spent a year conducting research, consulting experts and gathering input from hundreds of Smith College community members to develop a series of recommendations that allows Smith to contribute to climate solutions, locally and globally. By implementing these comprehensive recommendations, the college will integrate climate action and sustainability across all aspects of the college—education, research, operations, financial investments and engagement of the community.
