Ford Partnership for Advanced Studies (PAS)
The Ford Partnership for Advanced Studies (PAS) is an experience-based academic and personal development curriculum. It introduces motivated students to careers in such fields as engineering, business and management. The curriculum comprises a sequence of five semester-long elective courses taught in grades 10, 11, and 12. Smith College is pleased to be working in partnership with the Ford Motor Company to bring the Ford PAS curriculum to schools throughout western Massachusetts. Ford PAS workshops are held on the Smith College campus as part of the annual Summer Institutes for Educators. Participating teachers receive stipends and professional development points, and are invited to apply for grants to receive Ford PAS materials as well as to attend additional technical training in support of implementing Ford PAS curricula.
