If you are a woman who is strongly considering graduate school in the mathematical sciences but did not major in mathematics or your mathematics major was light, the postbaccalaureate program provides an opportunity to study mathematics intensively for one or two semesters at the advanced undergraduate level.

Applicants should have taken at least linear algebra and vector calculus, and at least one mathematics course above the level of calculus.

  • Three letters of recommendation (at least two from mathematics professors)
  • Official results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) (applicable only to applicants from non-English-speaking countries)
  • Résumé
  • Personal statement that describes how this program fits with your background and goals

Optional Materials

  • Scores from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) (applicable only to applicants from English-speaking countries)

Financial Assistance

A full tuition waiver and a $12,500 stipend to cover living costs are available to every U.S. citizen or permanent resident who is admitted to the postbaccalaureate program.
