Experience a precollege program that offers limitless ways to explore the world. You will join more than 300 other high school students who want to pursue their academic interests in and out of the classroom, strengthen their college applications and meet other motivated and ambitious college-bound young women. Accepting young women who will be entering grades 9, 10, 11, 12 in fall 2020.


Important COVID-19 Information

May 27, 2020- Due to the economic impact of COVID-19, the Office of Precollege Programs is closed this summer beginning on May 30th. We look forward to connecting with everyone in the fall and remain hopeful that we can begin planning for the summer 2021 Precollege Programs. 

April 15, 2020—Smith College and the Smith College COVID-19 Response Team announced today that on-campus summer programs will not be running in 2020. Smith Precollege Programs are canceled for summer 2020. 

Program fees paid to Smith for these canceled programs will be refunded. Smith cannot reimburse the application fee or cost of any travel or supplies purchased in preparation for our programs. Refunds will be applied to your account by May 15, 2020. We thank you for your patience as we process them as quickly as possible.

Will my application outcome (acceptance, waitlist, denied) be deferred to summer 2021?

No. We will not be deferring acceptance. Students are welcome to apply when our 2021 Application opens.

Will Smith Precollege Programs offer any digital or online learning this summer?

No. We will not be offering any online learning for precollege students in summer 2020.

I am a student connected to a Program Partner (i.e. Schuler Scholar Foundation, Achievement First Schools, REACH Memphis) is there anything special I should know?

Please connect with your Program Partner liaison. They have been provided additional information about refunds and summer 2021.

What does age-eligible for Precollege Programs Summer 2021 mean?

Age-eligible for summer 2021 means that you would be entering grades 9-12 in fall 2021.
