- Three signed letters of recommendation submitted directly by the writers to the mailing or email address listed above
- Graduate Record Exam (GRE) – applicable only to international applicants from English-speaking countries, in lieu of the TOEFL or IELTS
- Official results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) – applicable only to applicants from non-English-speaking countries (GRE accepted from applicants from English-speaking countries)

Financial Assistance
A student admitted to Smith’s M.S./Biological Sciences program will be awarded a teaching or research fellowship. A fellowship includes a full tuition waiver, a monthly stipend, and summer support.
