Biography

Nell Lake is a journalist, writer and editor. She teaches Creative Nonfiction: Writing about Health and Healthcare in the U.S.

Lake is the author of The Caregivers: A Support Group's Stories of Slow Loss, Courage, and Love, published by Scribner in 2014. She was founding editor of the Nieman Narrative Digest, a project of the Nieman Foundation at Harvard University, has written for The Boston Globe, CommonHealth/WBUR and many other publications, and has reported for public radio. She has a master's in American studies from Brown University and in the fall of 2016 returned to Brown full-time to complete her doctorate. Her next book will be about the women who work on the front lines of long-term care.
