Biography

HyunHee Park teaches Korean Language, Literature, and Culture.

Her research interest includes South Korean film and popular culture, comparative studies of early East Asian cinemas (Korean, Chinese, and Japanese), modern Korean literature, and women's studies. Her Korean-language monograph, entitled Mun Ye-bong and Kim Sin-jae, 1934-1945 (2008), explores on- and off-screen images of the two most popular actresses in the late-colonial Korean cinema.
