Gabrielle Revlock

Gabrielle Revlock (NYC/Philadelphia) is a performer, choreographer, improviser and creator of Restorative Contact, a mindful partner movement practice. Her choreographic work depicts complicated but relatable interpersonal relationships developed through meticulous character study and improvisational structures. Described by the press as inventive, rambunctious, and mesmerizing, her work has been presented across the U.S., in Japan, Netherlands, Singapore, Hungary, Russia and India and in NYC at venues including New York Live Arts, JACK, Joyce Soho, Gibney and CPR.

She was a 2020 Bessie Award honoree, 2019 Target Margin Institute Fellow and in 2018 was named Newcomer of the Year by the performance journal Tanz. Her work has been supported by the Independence Foundation, The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage, PA Council on the Arts, Puffin Foundation, Foundation for Contemporary Arts, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, American Dance Abroad and the U.S. Department of State. As a dancer, she has performed for Lucinda Childs, jumatatu m. poe, Susan Rethorst, Christopher Williams, Vicky Shick, Bill Young, David Gordon, Leah Stein and Jane Comfort. Her video collaboration with ThINKingDance, “So You Think You Can’t Understand Contemporary Dance?”, which is a two-minute conversation with her favorite five-year-old, has 20.6K views.
