Biography

Brooke Hauser teaches narrative nonfiction writing. As a journalist, she has written for The New York TimesLos Angeles Times and Allure, among other publications. Her most recent nonfiction book, Enter Helen: The Invention of Helen Gurley Brown and the Rise of the Modern Single Woman, is set against the backdrop of the sexual revolution and the women's movement. Her first book, The New Kids: Big Dreams and Brave Journeys at a High School for Immigrant Teens, won an Alex Award from the American Library Association.
