Anna Lee teaches courses about the history of photography and is keenly focused on fostering interdisciplinary critical perspectives.
Her dissertation examined the role of aesthetics within the practice of vernacular photography, and her current research extends this interest into the contemporary media landscape. She is presently working on a book-length series of case studies that trace the dynamic, and often ambivalent, status of photographic amateurism after Kodak.
